Law is a second career for me. For more than thirty years I worked in health information management — including over a decade directing the medical coding program at Highland Community College, and contributing a chapter to a national coding textbook along the way. I hold a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University, with an emphasis in rural society, and earned my law degree at Washburn University School of Law. That background is part of why elder and healthcare law come naturally to me, and it taught me how to take something complicated and put it in plain terms.
I'm a sixth-generation Kansan and a Fairview native. I grew up here, graduated from Sabetha High School, and today my husband Roger and I live on our family's farm near Fairview. Our twins, Nicole and Nolan, are grown, and we have two grandchildren nearby. I've stayed rooted in the community over the years — from leading a Girl Scout troop to serving on our township's cemetery board. When I'm not meeting with clients, you'll usually find me in the garden, keeping up with Jayhawks basketball, or out with Ziggy, our Cavapoo.
